The Middle Ages: What Happened When?

Creating your own timeline

If you’d like pupils to have a timeline of the major events of the Middle Ages, then they will remember more if they construct one themselves than if they given a complete timeline. Therefore this activity helps them construct their own timeline

The activity consists of two A4 pages containing a timeline which could be copied to create a single page of A3. The idea is that pupils use the clues in the boxes to find out via books or the internet which events go im the boxes. The clues will hopefully enable pupils to identify most or all of the events though some clues are more straightforward than others! It’s clearly up to you if they use these sheets as their timeline or they copy them onto a clean page.
